Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
However, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's greatest financial successes, consistently making huge paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.
Size Disparity
As both boxers engaged in the traditional face-off, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly going ahead.
